Villa Marni is a charming 135 sqm stone-built villa located just 5 km from the town of Rethymno in the picturesque and lush area of Galos village. A beautiful traditionally furnished property for up to four people ideal for small families, couples and friends.
The property consists of two floors. On the first floor there is a cozy living room with a fireplace connected to a separate, fully equipped modern kitchen. Furthermore on this level, you’ll find a spacious double bedroom with an en-suite private bathroom and a private balcony, providing a serene retreat.
A beautiful wooden staircase leads to the ground floor, where another generous bedroom with twin beds and an en-suite private bathroom awaits. In this floor there is a spacious. hallway where a desk is for someone who needs to work or study.
The villa is well-appointed with three satellite TV sets, air conditioning, and WiFi available throughout the property. Villa Marni is securely enclosed by stone walls and boasts an outdoor area with comfortable furniture, umbrellas, sunbeds, and a private 12 sqm. swimming pool (operating from 1.4 to 15.11) for refreshing dips.
In the settlement of Gallou, which has been classified as traditional since 1995, there are supermarkets, athletics facilities, the National Stadium of Rethymno, municipal tennis courts, taverns with traditional Cretan cuisine, cafes and newly built residences for students, since the University of Crete is located 200 meters away.
The visitor to the village can see to the west, the monastery of St. Paul of 1566, the church of Panagia Gallou with the icon of the Enthroned Christ, the 18th century church of St. George, as well as the 19th century churches of St. Luke, St. Anthony and the church of St. Charalambos. For nature lovers, the Galliano Gorge is a very nice hiking route along a verdant ravine, while the oak forest of Kastello, part of which passes through the settlement of Gallo, is also of particular natural beauty.
